2007 Cincinnati Cares for Kids Radiothon
This Thursday, February 8 through Saturday, February 10, Cincinnati Children's Hospital will be having their annual radiothon broadcast on Warm 98 (2007 Cincinnati Cares for Kids Radiothon). It is by far the biggest fundraiser the hospital has every year. Money raised through this effort will support the children and families cared for by Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. This year, we were asked to share Ben's story in a prerecorded radio spot which would be put to a music montage and aired during the radiothon. We were honored to have the opportunity to share a little about Ben, CHARGE Syndrome and also raise money for such a good cause. I tried not to get chocked up during the interview, but she was like Barbara Walters!!! And, of course, they used some of those choked up moments for my spot. If you want to hear "Benjamin's Story" montage or any of the other pre-recorded stories they will be using during the radiothon, visit www.cincinnatichildrens.org/radiothon and click on "Need a Reason to Give" in the orange tool bar. We are so fortunate to have such a wonderful hospital in our own backyard.

Ok I just listened to it and got totally choked up. You did a great job and I'm certain your story will help raise some much needed funds. But I'm also certain it was difficult for you to do this!!!
Love you! Amy and Max
Oh my gosh, Amy, that was beautiful! You did such a great job!! I have tears rolling down my face. You will touch so many people with Ben's story.
And what a coincidence--I just heard that song, "Precious and Few," on the radio as I dropped Katie off at school this morning, less than an hour ago. Sometimes I feel like all of our CHARGE kids have this unexplainable "connection" here on Earth.
Love,
Leslie and Katie
That is so wonderful, of course as everyone else I am in tears. I did the radioteleton for our Children's hospital and it was hard for me not to cry and I was told I did a great job.
You also did great and it must make you feel proud that you could help with Ben's story.
Hugs,
Crystal and Eva
Amy, that was wonderful. You did such a nice job. You should be proud not only of Ben, but of yourself and Mike, as well, for being the wonderful parents that you are. I'm sure Ben's story will help other children and parents who are dealing with the same issues. His story truly is amazing.
Love,
Theresa
Aunt Jen and Uncle Aaron said....
I just listened to the spot at work and held the phone up to the microphone so Uncle Aaron could hear....wow...that was really moving. It got me choked up as well. It's been such a journey for all of us, and we are so proud especially, of you and Mike. Your strength and positive outlook has been inspirational to us all and mostly, Ben has taught all of us what is really important in life. We love that little guy with all our hearts and love and support you and Mike. We are so fortunate to have one of the best hospitals in the country here in Cincinnati. We love all of you.

You did a great job. I am glad you were able to help out and get Ben and CHARGE Sydrome out to the public.
Cedie went to a great childrens hospital and I could definitely relate to your expieriences with Cincinnaati's hospital.

Listening to you talk only reinforced what I already knew; that God couldn’t have put Ben in more capable hands or a more loving home.
With much love,
your Mom & Dad
I was standing in the middle of a store, which happened to be playing the radiothon and I heard you talking. I knew immediately it was you- talking about Ben. I stood in the middle of the store in tears. I'm so proud to have been a small part of his life. Thank you for sharing Ben with all of us. Sherri P. (RCNIC nurse)
Julie just came in to my office with tears flowing and said she had just listened to you tell Ben's story. I look at Ben's picture when he was a few days old and again at him standing at the railing looking thru the bars and I thank God every day that Mike is my son and you are my wonderful daughter-in-law. You two have made Ben the beautiful little boy that he is today and I am so very proud to say you are my "children". Thank you for Ben.
Love you all,
Mom
your r so great amy
