Zoo Blooms

Today was beautiful in Cincinnati so my mom came down to visit and help me take Ben to the zoo for a few hours. Right now, it is "Zoo Blooms" season and the tulips were out in full force. They were beautiful! If only I could recreate the same thing at our house!!

Ben rode around in his car (surprise, surprise) and decided to play a fun little game after being there an hour (fun for him, not for us). He would take off his sunglasses, then hat, then the artificial nose on his trach and throw them off the side of the car. He thought this was hysterical! But seconds after he stopped laughing, he would be really upset because it was so bright (he can't squint due to his facial palsy and the direct sunlight is painful for him). So we would stop, put everything on him again and a minute later... the cycle started all over. After about 15 times, we decided enough was enough and we better head home.

Wow, the flowers are amazing! We haven't been to the zoo in awhile. We are hoping to go once Katie gets out of school. By then, all the gorgeous tulips will be gone, though!

Cute story about Ben taking off his hat, sunglasses, and trach nose, and dropping them off the side of his car! It's so fun to see our kids do typical kid things.

Leslie & Katie

It looks like you had a great time at the zoo. I'm glad you were able to get Ben out to enjoy it (even though you weren't as amused with his game as he was).

The flowers are beautiful. I glad you had a nice day. Here in Charleston, WV we are wearing our winter clothing again. I have a mandavilla planted at my light post but usually don't plant my flowers until Mother's Day.

That's so funny... Luke does the same thing. He will not keep his hat or shades on and we find his trach noses everywhere! At least you've got some nice pictures from the day. The flowers are beautiful and Ben is such a cutie!
