Proud Of My GUY!

Ben is now able to sit on the floor indian style all by himself (again). This is the first time he has been able to do this since his broken leg. It isn't easy to get him into sitting and we have to distract him with the TV to keep him sitting, but it is a start! I put pillows all around him in case he tips over - which he does when he loses his balance or gets tired of sitting.

Words can't express how happy I am to see him doing this again. I was so afraid it would take another year for him to regain this skill. I'm so proud of my guy!

Next up is bearing weight on his legs - which is detrimental to his bone strength. We are working hard to get him a stander and are trying to do what we can at home in the meantime. Ben is improving, but still very week and tight. With lots of persistence and VERY frequent stretching... I know we will get there again.

Oh Amy, I am so thrilled for all of you. This is so huge...especially after all that Ben has endured these past few months. YAY BEN! I know you are frustrated with the setbacks (I would be too)...truly frustrating. But wow, look at his progress already! He'll get right back to where he was. He sure likes to keep you busy though, doesn't he??? :)

Love you guys!

That is so wonderful and Eva is doing the samething now. She can not get into the position herself but she can stay there if we distract her.
Keep up the great work Ben!!
Hugs,
Crystal and Eva

Wow, Ben, look at you sitting already! That's awesome!!

I wish we would have known Ben would need a stander at some point. Katie had one when she was around his age, but we donated it back to Children's Hospital a year or so ago.

Keep up the great work, Ben!

Hugs,
Leslie & Katie
