No Need For Nap Time

Ben has been gradually getting less and less interested in his afternoon nap. Both today and yesterday Ben has skipped his nap all together. Yesterday, I put him in bed around 1:30 (his normal time) and he just played in bed until his afternoon pump feed was done at 3:30. He rolled around every inch of his bed, checked out every crevice and threw anything not tied on over the side of his crib. So far today, it is an exact repeat of yesterday. I treasure his nap time! It was my two hour mid-afternoon vacation! I knew he would be giving up naps eventually, I just didn't think it would be so soon - especially considering he only sleeps 9 hours a night. At least he's happy just laying in bed getting his fed for two hours. That's better than nothing. But no nap days = grumpy evenings with Ben.

our oldest Pierce (almost the same age as Ben) his naps have gotten shorter as well, and how true the two hour vacations are to be treasured!! So sorry to hear of your nurse crisis, we so hope you find someone. Lucas and Pierce will both start preschool next month and they have one nurse on staff and a doctor that is there once a week, but Lucas only needs his tube feeds there. Anyway hope all works out so that Ben can go!

oh yeah, love the video also, great job Ben!!

Lucky you! Evan has not been a regular napper for well over a year now. He normally wakes up around 7 am and goes to sleep around 8-9 pm. If he takes a nap, he'll be awake until 11 or 12. Although it is a nice break if he sleeps during the day, we've come to dread seeing it (and we try to wake him up) because we know how we'll pay later ;)

Hugs,
Sarah, Jeremy, and Evan

Bummer Amy! I am right there with you...that break in the middle of the day is priceless! Fortunately Max is still into 'em...so don't let Ben (OR EVAN!!!) give him any crazy ideas. :)

Eva is getting the same way, BUT the plus side is she does go to bed earlier at night so I can relax then. Our kids are getting older and its so sad...:(

Oh my... first you enroll him in pre-school, now he's not taking naps anymore... I can't believe how fast he's growing up! No one can believe he's going to be 3 already. I can't wait to see him!
